Back in 1983
there was a movie called WarGames starring a young Mathew Broderick about a school boy who accidentally connects to a military computer that controls America's nuclear warheads. Accepting an invitation to play a war game between Russia and America, he unwittingly starts a countdown that could mark the beginning to WWIII and has to convince the computer that he only wanted to play a game, not start actual war.

Wargames has the look and feel of the film and you have to play
the game to win a war against Russia. You have three attack
options, but obviously you don't know how your enemy is going to
respond. You win the game when your enemy has run out of silos
forcing them to surrender, or lose when you run out of missiles.
