Chances are you've never heard of one Harold Searles Thornton and, to be fair, he's probably never heard of you but that's not important right now. What turned out to be important is that in 1921 Mr Thornton patented a game as "Apparatus for playing a game of table football" and table football was born. Back then it was known as 'Foosball' and was apparently inspired by Thornton seeing matches lying parallel to each other on top of a matchbox. As with all great ideas, no one took a blind bit of notice of Thornton's invention however in the 1950s it gained in popularity and table football machines started appearing in cafes, pool halls and pubs across Europe and America. Little did they know that decades later there would be a computer version, and here it is. Enjoy.
